Takanabe Daishi
A group of giant stone statues that compose a story together with the Mochida burial mounds. Mr. Yasukichi Iwaoka, who was emotionally moved by the large-scale reckless excavations of the Mochida burial bounds in the early Showa period, gave up his personal fortune and spent half his life building statues to commemorate the souls of the people resting in the burial mounds. Such action expresses the affection of the local residents who value the Mochida burial mounds very much. Together with the Mochida burial mounds, the statues have been designated as a prefectural tourist heritage.
