Saitobaru Burial Mounds constitute a core group of mounded tombs in the thematic landscape of the kofun story, and the site consists of over 300 mounded tombs. Among all such sites in the country, it marks a unique historical site that still retains much the same appearance as when these kofuns were constructed.
