Ebino Plateau is located at an altitude of 2,450 meters and surrounded by the Kirishima Mountains, which include Mount Karakuni. The plateau’s summer is cool with temperatures between 17℃ and 23℃; therefore, it is an ideal place for a summer retreat. The area is well equipped with tennis courts, nature trails and camping sites , so the whole family can enjoy the outdoors. In winter it becomes a winter wonderland with snow covered trees. You can enjoy winter sports to the full. It also has a large artificial skating rink. At the end of August, the Japanese Silver Grass on the plateau changes colour to ‘ebi-iro’ (reddish –purple). The plateau then looks like it has been carpeted in red. The view from Mount Karakuni is especially beautiful.
